SEO & AEO for local businesses.

Help customers understand what you do—whether they find a search result or ask an AI assistant. TechBoot helps Sussex and Morris County businesses improve website copy, technical foundations, and the evidence behind their services.

Illustration of two ways customers discover a business: a search result linking to a service page, and an answer with a supporting source. Not an actual search result.

SEO vs. AEO

Different discovery. Shared foundations.

Customers may search for a local provider or ask a detailed question before they know what service they need. Your website should help with both.

Search engine optimization

SEO helps people find your pages.

SEO improves how a website can be discovered and understood in search. The work includes relevant content, crawlable pages, clear titles, internal links, and accurate local business information.

Example search: “Microsoft 365 consultant in Morris County.”

Answer engine optimization

AEO makes your expertise easier to reference.

AEO focuses on clear, factual answers that search and AI systems may use when responding to questions. Explain the service, show credible experience, and make important information available as readable text.

Example question: “Who can help our small business move from Gmail to Microsoft 365?”

Google says its existing SEO practices apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode; no special AI markup is required. Read Google’s guidance.

How TechBoot can help

A useful review. A practical improvement plan.

Start with your website and the customers you want to reach. We scope the work before making changes, from a focused review to hands-on implementation.

01

Search visibility review

Review indexing, important pages, search queries, and available analytics. Identify technical barriers and content gaps, then prioritize the work around the services you actually want to sell.

02

Clearer service pages

Explain who you help, what you do, and what a customer can expect. Replace vague claims with useful answers, practical examples, and verified client work—not more pages saying the same thing.

03

Technical and local cleanup

Improve titles, descriptions, internal links, sitemaps, and appropriate structured data. Check business details for consistency and distinguish places customers can visit from the areas you serve.

04

Implementation and measurement

Make agreed website changes or coordinate with your developer. Establish a baseline and track relevant impressions, clicks, available AI-search visibility, and inquiries so the next decision is based on evidence.

Illustrative copy example—not a client result

Say what someone can hire you to do.

A service page should answer a customer’s question before asking them to make contact. Specific language helps people judge whether the business is a fit.

Too general

“Technology solutions for tomorrow.”

It sounds positive, but does not explain the work, the customer, or the next step.

More useful

“Move your business email to Microsoft 365.”

“We help small businesses plan the migration, move mailboxes, configure employee access, and check mail delivery after the switch.”

The improvement is clarity—not a promise that changing a headline will produce rankings. Real examples, accurate service details, and a straightforward contact path support the message.

About TechBoot
Does AEO replace SEO?

No. A page still needs to be accessible, useful, and credible. AEO adds attention to how clearly it answers a question and explains the business; it is not a separate shortcut around search fundamentals.

Can you guarantee that AI will recommend my business?

No. Search engines and AI platforms decide what they show. We can improve the information and technical foundations they can access, but we cannot guarantee rankings, citations, recommendations, or leads.

Do we need a new website or lots of AI-generated articles?

Usually the first step is to improve what you already have. A few well-explained service pages and credible examples may be more useful than a larger site full of repeated copy. We recommend a rebuild only when the current platform gets in the way.

How will we know whether the work is helping?

We agree on a starting point and review relevant search queries, page visibility, clicks, and inquiries. AI reporting varies by platform, and a manual spot check is not a complete measure of visibility. We distinguish being seen from generating useful business.
